Friday November 26, 2021

Tomorrow morning I will depart Nassau Yacht Haven (Nassau Bahamas) for my final 180 nm solo sail into the USA, West Palm Beach, and ultimately the Indian Town Marina. I can’t say I’m especially excited about another solo sail, but the weather looks ok so it’s time to go!

And just like that, my 4 year grand adventure is near over. Time to give Intrepid a rest and much deserved make over. She treated me well and I treated her with respect. Next November she will be back in the water and will return to the Sea of Cortez.

As I end my journey I do so with a sense of calm, not jubilation. I’m happy for what I have experienced and now happy it is over. I wanted to know fear, loneliness, endurance, perseverance, heartbreak, and all the emotions that go into such an epic.

So while not everyone will become an adventurer, adventures can come from anywhere. So next time you’re at a fork in the road, take the road less traveled, that will make all the difference.

Thanks to all of you during this journey. Special thanks to my dear friends Duco Pulle, Joe Prosko, Chris Davis, Tim Jacobson and my son, Alex Brill. You guys had my back for the past 4 years and I am always grateful.

I’ll let you all know when I am safe in Florida.
